好きだった外国人女性スターを並べてみた 1
オリビア・ニュートン・ジョンをご紹介した時に、ふと思い出しました。
そう言えば、昔はきれいな外国人女性シンガーや女優さんが好きでした。
思い出すだけでも結構な人数なので、ちょっと並べてみたいと思います。
まず今日は、私が最も恋い焦がれていたと言っても過言ではない
エリザベス・シューさん。
彼女を最初に見たのは、1984年制作の
『ベスト・キッド（原題：The Karate Kid）』
でした。
主人公の恋人役だったんですが、まぁ、かわいい！！
もちろん映画館に見に行ってたわけですが、迷わずパンフレット買って
名前をチェック。
そこからしばらくは、毎月「スクリーン」（映画専門雑誌）を
買うハメになるわけです。
で、1987年。3作目にして、
『ベビーシッターアドベンチャー』で主演獲得！
勢いに乗って、1988年
『カクテル』（トム・クルーズ主演）でヒロイン！！
さらに、1989年、1990年と
（マイケル・Ｊ・フォックス主演）
パート2、3でヒロイン！！！
と目覚ましい活躍をみせるわけです。
で、とうとう1995年
『リービング・ラスベガス』で
アカデミー賞主演女優賞にノミネート！！！！
惜しくも獲得はできませんでしたが、もう飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢い。
あぁ、かわいかったなぁ（遠い目…）
数ある彼女の出演作の中で、今日紹介する曲は『The Moment of Truth』。
『ベスト・キッド』のテーマ曲なんですが、歌っているのはSURVIVOR。
SURVIVORと言えば『ロッキー』シリーズでご存知の方は多いでしょう。
『Eye of The Tiger』や『Burning Heart』ですよ！

どうです？SURVIVORの歌はもちろんカッコいいんですが、
エリザベス・シューさんの可愛さ、ハンパないでしょう？
『カクテル』でも、『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』でも
可愛さは変わりないのですが、“純真な少女さ”が堪らない
こちらの作品を選びました。

秋の夜長は映画でも…。
昨日、『GREASE』の中で使われ大ヒットしたオリビア・ニュートン・ジョンの
『Hopelessly devoted to you』を紹介しましたが、映画で使われた曲って
いい曲が多いですよね。
もちろん、映画がヒットすると使われた曲もヒットするのでしょうが、
映画の内容は忘れたけど曲だけは覚えている、なんてこともよくあります。
今日ご紹介するのは、
マル・ウォルドロンの『Left Alone』という曲です。
初めてこの曲を聴いたのは、私が大学生の頃。
角川映画『キャバレー』の中で流れていました。
角川三人娘、懐かしいなぁ！
角川さんは上記三人の売り出しに成功し、とうとう若手男優の売り出しに出ます。
その名は、野村宏伸。
『キャバレー』は彼のデビュー作でもあるのです。
内容は…。覚えてません！
この曲が全編流れていたことと、やくざ役の鹿賀丈史さんが
やったらめったら、カッコよかったことくらい…。
ハハ、どうもすみません^^;
面白くなかったとかではなく、私にはこの曲のインパクトの方が大きくて
映画館出たその足でレコード屋へ直行しました。
ま、売ってなかったんですけどね。
当時ジャズは、なかなかそのへんのレコード屋には置いてませんでした。
映画を見たその日から、何日も何日も探しましたが見つからず…。
やっと見つけたのは、それから半年くらい経ったレンタルレコード屋でした。
見つけた時は涙出るくらい、嬉しかったのを覚えています。
ところで、レンタルレコード屋って、覚えている人います？
うちの嫁が「何それ？」状態で、そんなのあったか？なんて申します。
確かに、ありましたよね！？

キャバレー 1986年 角川映画 レフト・アローン マリーン - YouTube
原曲は1960年に発表されました。この曲にはちゃんと歌詞も存在するのですが、
（マリーンさんが歌う『Left Alone』も上げておきましたが…。これも、いいです！）
発表当時のアルバムは曲のみの、いわゆるインストゥルメンタルです。
マル・ウォルドロンはジャズ・ピアニストですから演奏のみで当たり前なのですが、
この曲には深い哀悼がこめられていて、本来この曲で歌う人がいたのですが
その人は亡くなってしまったんです。
その人の名はビリー・ホリディ。
ジャズに詳しい人はもちろん、詳しくない人でも名前だけは知っているって人も
いらっしゃるでしょう。
マルはビリーの晩年の伴奏者だった。しかもこの曲は本来彼女が歌う予定だった。

しかし、発表前の1959年に彼女は亡くなってしまうのです。
マルの哀しく、切ない気持ちが伝わってくる、至極の名曲だと私は思っています。

女性シンガーで好きだった人に、

中学生くらいの頃だったかな？
『GREASE』という映画を見て、
わお！かわいい！！
と思ったのが最初でした。
すでに、『Take me home, Country Roads』や
『Have you never beenn mellow』
（邦題『そよ風の誘惑』）
等で有名でしたが
なにしろ、私、中学生。
まだ、外国人歌手の歌の良さに気づいておりません(>_<)
“見た目の可愛さ”から入るのが精一杯！！
映画の中では、ジョン・トラボルタ扮する不良高校生に恋する可憐な乙女を
演じるのですが、最後にイメチェン。すっごい、イメチェン。
くぅ～、これがまた かわいい！！
ミュージカルなんですが、とにかく面白かったし、曲が良かったし、
ジョンはカッコいいし、オリビアはかわいいし！
サントラからはヒット曲がたくさん出たのですが、今日はこれ。
